CODE OF ETHICS

It was agreed on the first meeting of the OHSAI held on August 25, 2005, that members would operate a Code of Ethics amongst themselves. No member would indulge in the poaching of any nurse who has already signed up with another agency.

This was ratified in the second meeting held on December 17, 2005 and it was decided that

• In case of an incident of poaching, the concerned members would be requested by the Committee to attempt to work out their differences amongst themselves
• If the members were unsuccessful, then each member would be allowed to pick one member of the Managing Committee to represent them and the two Managing Committee members would arbitrate amongst themselves and attempt to resolve the matter.
• If the two Managing Committee members were unable to resolve the issue amongst themselves or if they came to the conclusion that one of the parties was guilty then the issue would be discussed at the next Association meeting. If the Managing Committee agreed with the conclusion, then the guilty party would be suspended from the membership of the Association for a period of six months.
